George Gevargis, Sultan of Scrumptious
Serving up food for the masses is in George’s blood – his parents have had a deli in his hometown of Hyde Park, NY for 26 years so he’s had a passive interest in food ever since he can remember. George’s more active interest came about during his fraternity days – instead of hiring a Kitchen Manager to menu plan, create recipes, grocery shop, and cook, the brothers took turns doing this for 1 semester rotations. George “volunteered” for a semester and actually ended up thoroughly enjoying it, so he did it for 2 more semesters!
Since his days as fraternity Kitchen Steward, George has had experience working and consulting in the commercial food service industry as well as at fast-casual restaurant concepts. He has refined his culinary skills and learned to make some pretty good food (including his mom’s secret family recipes). George also picked up an MBA from DU that he customized to focus on two of his passions in life: Entrepreneurship and Environmental Management. Put that all together with what Katy and Chad bring to the table, and you have yourself a food truck folks!
Katy Gevargis, Duchess of Delicious
Katy devotes her waking hours to satisfying her love of the arts, whether it be designing buildings on the computer (she’s an architectural designer by trade) or being physically invested in the creation of wonderful, consumable art that all people can enjoy. She gained experience in the restaurant industry as a hostess, server, and pizza cook working her way through architecture school. After being in the architecture field for a few years, Katy grew to miss the personal interaction and rewarding feeling involved with serving people a meal.
So much of life happens over a meal. In doing Eat Eatclectic Mobile Eats, Katy aspires to create eclectic foods that nourish the mind, body, and spirit. The truck has been served well with Katy’s love of new ethnic flavors, adventure, traveling, and sci-fi stories. She is the creative mind that designed the whimsical logo and aesthetics that make the truck an integral part of the eating experience.
Chad Whitmer, Constable of Cuisine
The idea of making foods you love better by adding the ingredients and fl avors that excite whomever is eating is what drew Chad Whitmer to the culinary industry. Chad’s passion for food and the art of combining flavors into a meal began with a high school culinary class. The class supplied Chad with a clean slate; a way to express himself through a dish he presents to the enjoyer.
Chad graduated rom the California School of Culinary Arts in 2007. To date, he has had his hands in the food world for 7 years, working in an array of kitchens to help build his experience. Recent opportunities landed him in Denver, where he fell in love with the active lifestyle and beautiful surroundings that Colorado offers. When he’s not serving up your favorite Eatclectic specials, you can find him in the hockey rink or enjoying the mountains.
